Bringing Color and Community to the Fullerton Transit Center

How a historic site, a visionary design team, and our signage expertise came together to transform a downtown transit hub.

At Signature Signs, we take pride in creating signage that does more than direct traffic, it brings spaces to life. Our recent collaboration at the Fullerton Transit Center, a bustling hub and historic landmark in downtown Fullerton, is a vibrant example of how signage can amplify public art and civic identity.

A Mural that Tells Fullerton’s Story

This project was born out of the Clean California Transit Enhancement Program, a state-funded initiative designed to beautify and enhance public transportation areas across California. At the heart of the Fullerton installation is a bold, dynamic mural designed by Pandr Design Co., a creative studio known for their uplifting, community-centered murals.

Pandr’s design concept, themed “Everything You ❤️ About Fullerton,” brings together iconic local symbols. From vintage cars and citrus groves to trains, guitars, and the city’s beloved baseball heritage. These visuals are set in striking geometric panels that wrap the vertical elevator shafts at the station, transforming utilitarian structures into bold canvases of civic pride.

‍Our Role: Turning Design into Durable Reality

Signature Signs partnered closely with Pandr Design Co. to fabricate and install custom aluminum panel signage that could meet the demands of a high-traffic transit environment,  while preserving the integrity of a historic site.

Our scope included:

• Precision fabrication of each mural panel based on the artists’ digital mockups
• Weather- and fade-resistant finishes to ensure long-term vibrancy in outdoor conditions
• Complex installation on the steel-frame elevator towers — requiring exact alignment, bracket design, and historic sensitivity
• Collaboration with city officials and local transit authorities to meet safety, ADA, and preservation guidelines

This wasn’t just a mural install, it was a fusion of artistic vision and technical execution, and our team rose to the challenge with care, creativity, and craftsmanship.

Celebrating the Project with the Community

This week, our team had the pleasure of attending the ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Fullerton Transit Center. It was a joy to see so many familiar faces — from city leaders and transit officials to the talented artists at Pandr Design Co. — all gathered to celebrate the transformation of this historic site.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. Seeing the finished work in person, alongside the people who made it possible, reinforces how meaningful it is to leave a lasting mark on places that matter to a community.
